POSHU Education and Enterprise Centre
To construct our POSHU Education and Enterprise Centre at Orapada in Kumi District East Uganda. So far we´ve received funding from Irymple Rotary to lay the foundations when Susan Howe returns to Uganda at the end of 2018. This will be the POSHU Projects Hub for the surrounding 7 villages, and for the 10 villages in other districts where POSHU operates. We will hold Teacher Training at this centre, instead of hiring a hall as in previous years.
PARTNERS: Mildura’s Irymple Rotary
To introduce computers to our POSHU teachers.
In 2011 we paid for our POSHU Chairperson and a local Headmaster to attend Basic Computer Training in Jinja Town. We purchased a computer and printer for the school, and gave our POSHU Chairperson a lap-top donated by a Mildura doctor.
In 2012-13 POSHU contributed to the cost of our POSHU Secretary gaining a Diploma in Business Studies, and for our office receptionist to obtain a Certificate in Tourism and Office Management. In 2019, I will introduce our POSHU teachers to the benefits of using a computer. I will bring with me a pre-programmed computer for use where there is no internet.
PARTNERS: Brisbane Rotary and their project “Teacher in a Box” which provides the lap-tops.
To continue working with women in rural and remote parts of Uganda, to create opportunities with them to improve their lives.
AIM: To begin another 4 POSHU English and Math Classes in remote villages.
THANK YOU TO OUR DONORS WHO ARE MAKING THIS POSSIBLE!
